1. Introduction
Dripychat ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use our App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Account information: name, username, email address, age, gender and location
Phone number: collected during registration. Premium users may use your phone number to initiate WhatsApp contact with you via the WhatsApp Contact feature. All contact attempts are logged for safety.
Profile content: photos, bio, interests and looking-for preferences
Communications: messages, status posts and media shared within the App
Payment information: transaction references, payment method type, subscription plan and receipt. We do not store full card numbers or M-Pesa PINs.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device identifiers and FCM token (used to send push notifications)
App usage data and interaction logs (likes, swipes, profile views, matches)
Analytics data: profile view counts, swipe stats, drip engagement and boost performance — surfaced to you in your Analytics page
Approximate location, GPS coordinates, and country (ISO alpha-2 code) when you enable location features. Your country is visible to premium users browsing International Discover. You can update your location at any time from profile settings. We store a location_updated_at timestamp recording when your location was last refreshed.

To enable the WhatsApp Contact feature for premium users using registered phone numbers
To power International Discovery by grouping users by country (ISO code derived from GPS)
To send automated confirmation emails for reports and verification requests
To comply with legal obligations
4. Payment Processing
Dripychat uses the following payment processors to handle subscriptions:
M-Pesa (Safaricom): processes mobile money payments. Your phone number and transaction reference are shared with Safaricom to initiate and verify payment. Safaricom's privacy policy applies to data they process.
Paystack: processes card and mobile money payments. Your email address and payment details are shared with Paystack for transaction processing. Paystack's privacy policy applies to data they process.
Google Play Billing: our in-app subscription system on Android. Subscription purchases, renewals, and cancellations are processed by Google. We receive purchase tokens and subscription status via Google's Pub/Sub system. Google's privacy policy applies.
We store only the transaction reference, payment method type, amount and subscription status. We never store full card numbers or M-Pesa PINs.
5. Message Security
Messages sent through Dripychat are protected using TLS encryption in transit and encryption at rest on our servers. Dripychat does not use end-to-end encryption — message content is stored on our servers and may be accessed by authorised personnel for safety and moderation purposes.
5b. WhatsApp Contact Feature
Dripypass premium subscribers may use the WhatsApp Contact feature to initiate WhatsApp conversations with other users using their registered phone number. By registering on Dripychat, you acknowledge that your registered phone number may be accessed by premium subscribers for this purpose.
A daily cap limits the number of WhatsApp contacts any premium user may initiate per day
All WhatsApp contact attempts are logged in our safety audit system (whatsapp_contacts_log)
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Other premium users: your phone number is accessible to premium subscribers for WhatsApp contact initiation. Your country (derived from GPS) is visible to premium users browsing International Discover
Other users: your profile information as you choose to make it visible
Payment processors: M-Pesa/Safaricom, Paystack and Google Play Billing for subscription billing
Service providers: cloud hosting (Supabase) and push notifications (Firebase) under strict data processing agreements
Law enforcement: when required by law or to protect the safety of users
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your profile and messages are removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, regular security audits and access controls. However, no system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong unique password and enable any available security features.
10. Children's Privacy
Dripychat is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will terminate it immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
